December 18, 2014 club meeting. This was the annual holiday potluck and gift exchange.
November 20, 2014 club meeting. The display topic was "Historical Buildings, Ships, or Bridges" and the speaker was Tim Culbert, with the topic of "World War I Allied Victory Medals."
October 16, 2014 club meeting. The display topic was "Minting Errors," and the speaker was Mike Zagorin (from Olympia and Tacoma-Lakewood Coin Clubs). He spoke about "Viking Coins and their Conquest into England."
Washington State (Puyallup) Fair, September 5-21, 2014. See the PNNA website for more information about the Hobby Hall coin display. The PNNA sponsors the annual coin exhibit in the Hobby Hall, with assistance from several local coin clubs including the SNS. No volunteer is knowledgeable about all aspects of numismatics — if your question wasn't answered or if you were unable to attend the Fair, please e-mail your question to info@pnna.org, and it will be directed to a local expert. The PNNA's Hobby Hall coordinator is Rick Schulz.
September 18, 2014 club meeting. The display topic was "Your favorite summer find," and the speaker was Dick Billings on "German Porcelain Coins."
August 16, 2014 club BBQ in Edmonds, Washington. Flyers were emailed to club members. As reported in the newsletter, "Thanks to Tom and Dorothy Sheehan for hosting the annual summer BBQ. The weather was fantastic, the food was tasty and the company was delightful."
June 19, 2014 club meeting. The display topic was "The Wild Kingdom-Animals," and Bill McKivor also gave an interesting talk.
May 15, 2014 club meeting. The display topic was "Happy Mother’s Day-Famous women on coins, currency or tokens." Guest Todd Hughes, from the Tacoma-Lakewood Coin Club, spoke on the topic of "Bitcoins (non-fiat, digital currency)."
April 17, 2014 club meeting. The display topic was "What is it? Items that you have not been able to identify." The speaker was Gene Henry, who detailed the evolution of Seattle coin clubs from 1936 to the present. Paul Fouts started Seattle’s coin club movement in 1936 when he founded the Seattle Coin Club. Gene supplemented his talk with many photos, programs and news clippings from this 78 year period.
March 20, 2014 club meeting. The program was "Short Snorters" by Tom Sparks (see http://www.shortsnorter.org/), and the display topic was "In honor of St. Patrick — Anything Irish."
February 20, 2014. SNS Annual Club Banquet and Auction. The annual banquet and white elephant was held on 2/20 at 6:30 p.m. Thanks to all those that attended. A good time was had by all and many of the items had competitive bidding wars. Total receipts were $305.25.
January 16, 2014 club meeting. This was the annual display runoff. Members could also bring a display on "Your favorite acquisition of 2013."
