Meeting LocationSNS meetings are now held in the social room of Queen Anne Manor (basement), 100 Crockett Street, (Queen Anne Hill), Seattle, WA at 7:15 PM on the 3rd Thursday of most months. There are currently no July-August meetings scheduled, and there is an off-site banquet each February. |
The December 21, 2017 club meeting topic was "Your choice. Bring what you want," and the speaker was Rick Schulz. There was no holiday party this year, due to low meeting turnouts. The November 16, 2017 club meeting topic was "Holidays," and the speaker was longtime club member Marc Duvall. The October 19, 2017 club meeting topic was "Despotic Leaders," and the speaker was Mike Zagorin, who gave a very informative talk on “Forgotten Blue Books” by Whitman. He brought along over 60 varieties to show. Washington State (Puyallup) Fair, September 1-24, 2017, except closed on Tuesdays. The PNNA sponsors the annual coin exhibit in the Hobby Hall, with assistance from several local coin clubs including the SNS. In addition, guest speaker Kyle gave a very informative talk about $2 banknotes, including an 1875 $2 Columbian from the Nat’l Bank of Boston. A representative from the Renton Police Dept. spoke regarding coin safety, both as a collector and a dealer. The display topic was "Flora and Fauna." April 20, 2017 club meeting. The guest speaker was Ray Fiorini from the South Hill Coin Club, speaking about "Chuck E. Cheese Game Tokens." The display topic was the National Coin Week theme of "Conflict and Courage: Money and the Military." Important note: The March meeting was moved to the Tukwila Community Center due to the PNNA convention, March 17-19, 2017. March 16, 2017 club meeting. The guest speaker was Dan Duncan, owner of Pinnacle Rarities, and the display topic was "Lions and/or Lambs." Congratulations to Dick Billings, the winner of the annual display runoff. He will be receiving his prize at the banquet. The speaker was Mike Zagorin, who gave a very informative lesson on propaganda notes from the First Gulf War. These notes were made in the United States to drop on Iraqi civilians and armies to intimidate or encourage them to surrender.
